  • Mary Alice Birdwhistell

    Senior Pastor


    Mary Alice Birdwhistell is originally from the beautiful state of Kentucky and a graduate of Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky. In 2009, she moved to Waco, Texas to attend Baylor’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary and joined the staff at Calvary Baptist Church as children’s minister. Upon completing her Master of Divinity in 2013, Calvary called her to become their associate pastor. Mary Alice enjoys yoga, Kentucky basketball, writing, and all things purple.

  • Randall Bradley

    Minister of Music and Worship


    Randall Bradley has been a minister of music and worship since 1978, and has served at Calvary since 2001 (with a short break from 2009 to 2012). Originally from Alabama, he has lived in Missouri, Oklahoma, and in Texas since 2000. His other job is mentoring, teaching, and encouraging students at Baylor University through his work with the Church Music Program and the Center for Christian Music Studies. In addition to making music, he enjoys traveling, gardening, and cooking.

  • Ali Chappell DeHay

    Minister to Youth


    Ali Chappell DeHay is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina and graduated from Meredith College with a degree in History. Ali moved to Texas in January of 2014 to begin her Master of Divinity at George W. Truett Theological Seminary, and began working at Calvary in May of 2014. She is passionate about journeying through life; the good and the bad, alongside Calvary’s youth. Ali enjoys running, listening to Bruce Springsteen, exploring any art museum she can get her hands on, and traveling with her husband.

  • Guilherme Almeida

    Music Administrative Assistant


    Brazilian born Guilherme Almeida is an active music director, collaborative pianist, vocal coach, conductor, organist, harpsichordist, composer, and educator in the Musical Theatre, Opera, Classical Music, and Global Music worlds. Since 2011, Mr. Almeida has served as Lecturer in Musical Theatre and Collaborative Pianist at Baylor University. Since 2015 Guilherme has served on staff at Calvary Baptist Church.

    Guilherme is an ordained Baptist minister and has served in Christian base-communities of Northeast Brazil as pastoral musician and liturgist, with a 15-year experience in the pastoral practices of Liberation Theology. Highlights of his international academic and ministerial experience include Brazil (Goiás Baptist Theological Seminary), Greece (PORTA – the Albanian House in Athens, and the Second Greek Evangelical Church in Athens), India (Christ University, CMI), Thailand (Baptist World Alliance, Commission on Baptist Worship and Spirituality), and the USA (Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, Baptist General Convention of Texas). His current research involves character study of social identities, Theatre of the Oppressed, and Ethnodoxology.

  • Lauryn Everic

    Interim Children's Minister


    Lauryn was born and raised in the Richmond, Virginia area and graduated from Regent University in Virginia Beach with a degree in Christian Ministry. Lauryn moved to Waco in August of 2015 to begin a Master of Divinity degree at George W. Truett Theological Seminary, and began attending Calvary at that time. In the Fall of 2017 she joined Calvary's staff in the position of Pre-School Coordinator, and in August of 2018 became Calvary's Interim Children's Minister. Lauryn enjoys Fall time, yoga, traveling with her husband, all forms of art, and snuggling with her cat, Ollivander

  • Phil Sitton

    Stewardship Administrator


    In September 2011, Phillip retired from Shearer Hills Baptist Church, San Antonio, where he served as Associate Pastor: Worship/Administration for 40 years. In the same month, he and his wife, Pat, moved to Waco and joined Calvary. After a year of membership, he joined the staff. In addition to his work at Calvary, he serves as Conductor for the Baylor Singing Seniors, an area wide choir of approximately 100 senior adults. His passions are worship, travel, theater, and Baylor sports.

    His family includes son, Chris, and wife Julie, in San Antonio, and Grandsons; Devin and Kaleb; daughter Jennifer and husband, Jonathan (Davis) who are long time Calvary members, and Grandsons; Tyler and Ryan.

  • Nathan Spears

    Office Administrator


    Nathan Spears grew up in North Georgia, but his family has relocated to Phoenix, Arizona. He went to Carson Newman in Jefferson City, TN. Upon graduation in 2009, he came to George W. Truett Theological Seminary in pursuit of a Master of Divinity. In December 2012 he finished his MDiv. as well as accepting an invitation to be on Calvary’s administrative staff. Nathan likes all things tech related and is eagerly awaiting the BCS bowl birth of the Baylor Bears!
